Mais Lecture: The challenges of the post-Covid, post-Brexit UK economy with Dr Anneliese Dodds MP

The annual Mais lecture is regarded as the City of London’s foremost event for the banking and finance community, and is attended by senior practitioners and academics. Since its inception in 1978, the Mais has maintained a tradition of welcoming prestigious speakers. This year we’re delighted to welcome Anneliese Dodds MP, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, to deliver the first online Mais lecture. Anneliese Dodds was appointed as the first ever female Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer in April 2020, and has been the Member of Parliament for Oxford East since 2017. She has previously served as a Member of the European Parliament for South East England and sat on its Committee of Economic and Monetary Affairs. Ms Dodds has also lectured in Public Policy, having gained a PhD in Government at London School of Economics with research interests in regulation and risk in the public sector. She will be the first ever female speaker to deliver the Mais Lecture, which will centre around the UK’s economic response to both Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic.
