Die Tour auf die Edmund-Graf-Hütte ist perfekt geeignet für die Kombination aus Bike&Hike. Ausgehend vom Informationsbüro in Pettneu, geht es kurz entlang des Zeinisbachs bergab. Danach folgt ein längerer Anstieg durch den schattigen Wald entlang des Malfonbachs, der besonders mit dem E-Bike leicht bewältigt werden kann. Später geht es auf der Forststraße vorbei an kleinen Bächen, grünen Wiesen und zahlreichen Kühen. Schnell ist die erste Etappe, die Malfon Alm, erreicht. Wer für die Route das Bike gewählt hat, kann es bei der Alm oder weiter oben bei der Talstation der Materialseilbahn stehen lassen. Von hier aus führt die Forststraße noch ein Stück weiter, bevor der Weg auf die Edmund-Graf-Hütte links abzweigt. Auf engen, steilen Serpentinen führt der Steig in alpinem Gelände nach oben zur Edmund-Graf-Hütte. Unterwegs teilt sich der Weg nochmals. Der Weg auf der Südseite des Bachs ist dabei etwas kürzer als jener auf der Nordseite. Die Hütte liegt in der östlichen Verwallgruppe und bietet herrliche Ausblicke auf die umliegende Bergwelt. Ein kleiner See lädt zum Verweilen ein. Der Abstieg erfolgt auf dem gleichen Weg. Wer noch weiter möchte, kann nach einer Hüttenübernachtung auf den Hohen Riffler oder zur Niederelbehütte wandern. ** English ** The tour to the Edmund Graf Hütte is perfect for a Bike & Hike combination. There’s a split in the path, but both tracks lead to the hut, with the southerly one a little shorter than the northerly. The hut is located in the eastern Verwall group and offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. It has a small and inviting pond, and the hut is an excellent place to refuel and refresh. The return is via the way you came up, but you can stay overnight in the hut and hike up to the Hoher Riffler or the Niederelbe Hütte the following day.
