Summary: In this Learning Session we learned about METHIS: a digitally supported Goal Oriented Care (GOC) approach for adults with multimorbidity in primary care, supported by Learning Health System (LHS) principles embedded within participating practice based research and learning networks. The study will evaluate the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability of METHIS in primary care. This multinational study across Portugal, Norway and Canada will use a stepped-wedge cluster randomised controlled trial design involving patients aged ≥60 years with multimorbidity in primary care practices within PBRNs in Portugal and Norway. Practices will transition sequentially from usual care to the intervention. The intervention comprises: (1) structured GOC training for primary care teams; (2) implementation of the METHIS digital platform to support goal elicitation, shared decision-making, and monitoring; and (3) application of LHS principles, including patient engagement to promote continuous learning and improvement.
