Today, they are pushing the limits of the Develop Air mini by testing its non GPS capabilities, using a HereFlow optical flow sensor and a TeraRanger to test its ability to hold position using only visual sensors and rangefinding. It was anything but smooth sailing. They ran into a conflict where the flight mode switch was accidentally triggering an auto-landing sequence. After sorting out the channel mapping and performing the "calibration dance," they tested optical flow positioning only to face a sudden altitude spike that required some pro-piloting reflexes to save the drone from a flyaway.
