Shadow lands on the nest and the immature eagle flies around the nest and circles. Both Shadow & Jackie are giving off warning calls to the immature. Shadow will fly off the attic and the immature eagle sees him & follows. Shadow lands in the nest canopy with vocals and the immature flies right over him, then off to the right, circling around till out of sight. Juveniles and immature eagles rely on Kleptoparasitism - a form of stealing food or prey from another animal. But not only young eagles do this - adults will steal food from other eagles too when the opportunity presents itself! Young eagles learn to hunt by trial and error their first year and they steal food while they learn how to hunt and fish. They also will eat carrion (dead animals) that they find. Jackie enjoyed her fish and ate it quite fast and returned to incubate the eggs. Shadow drops down from the nest canopy to the rails and then he will fly off to his roosting spot for the night. Jackie watches & gives out a little vocal seeing him depart. Thank you for watching!
