Antony’s Story

From child labor at just 5 years old to becoming the top student in his class, Antony’s story of perseverance, hope and faith is a testament to what is possible through the work of Cross Catholic Outreach and its ministry partners. At a young age, Antony suffered from malnutrition, severe rashes and constant illnesses. His life changed forever when he was taken in by the St. Francis Boys’ Home in Kenya. With the support of U.S. donors, Antony is thriving academically, socially and spiritually as he works toward a bright future. Cross Catholic Outreach, a 501(c)(3), is an official Catholic ministry that partners with bishops, priests, religious and lay workers to provide food, water, housing, education, orphan support, medical care, microenterprise and disaster relief — and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ — to the poorest of the poor in more than 30 countries around the world. We collaborate with aid partners that employ a community-oriented aid strategy and that strive to increase the self-sufficiency of the poor. For larger, advanced partners, we provide financial and material resources as well as handle the vital functions of financial monitoring, reporting and accountability. Our partners, in turn, provide the all-important grassroots connection to the community, which is absolutely vital to the provision of humanitarian aid. For smaller-scale partners, such as needy, church-based ministries, we provide support through their existing programs. In this way, we can supply meaningful help where it is needed most, as they have the necessary community outreach to serve the poor. In everything we do, we remain focused on the Lord, serving with humility, fervor and love, and we advance Catholic evangelization.
