Every year I try to talk about mental health and addiction, not because it’s trendy, but because it’s personal. I lost my oldest brother, my childhood hero, to a drug overdose, and addiction has touched my family in more ways than one. In this episode, we talk honestly about what addiction really does to people, how drugs can change someone’s personality, judgment, and behavior, and why compassion and accountability have to exist at the same time. Being addicted to drugs doesn’t automatically make someone a bad person, but addiction can turn good people into someone you barely recognize. Drugs alter brain chemistry, perception, and impulse control, and over time they can cause lasting damage. We also talk about athletes like Josh Gordon, how substance abuse is often rooted in deeper mental health struggles, and why judgment without understanding helps no one. If you have a family member or friend struggling with addiction, this conversation is for you. Don’t give up on people, but don’t destroy yourself or your family trying to save them. Set boundaries, stay honest, and leave the door open for real help. One conversation might not change everything, but it might matter more than you realize. ► Shop Slingshot Gear & Accessories: https://markbellslingshot.com/ | Follow Mark Bell | ► Instagram: / marksmellybell ► Facebook: / markbellsupertraining ► Twitter: / marksmellybell ► Snapchat: marksmellybell | Follow MBSlingshot, Power Magazine, and Power Project | ► Slingshot: / mbslingshot ► The Power Magazine: / thepowermagazine ► Power Project: / markbellspowerproject ► Podcast: https://apple.co/2r7719G | Follow SuperTraining Gym & Athletes | ► Instagram: / thesupertraininggym ► Snapchat: supertraininggym Created and produced by HMYB Media.
