As in the previous episodes, I do a 160 tkm service for my BMW F20 car Diagnosis & maintenance BMW F20 116 2013 engine N13 (N13B16) 00:00 Intro As in the previous episode, I showed with a special tool that the timing chain is stretched The running noise of the engine does not yet show the elongation of the timing chain It's time to replace the new timing chain 01:25 Remove intake silencer housing 01:35 Remove cover in engine compartment on left or right 01:55 Remove trailing link on spring strut dome Lever out covers and release screws and remove trailing link 02:45 Remove the sound insulation of the upper part of the bulkhead Release expansion rivet and unclip sealing Release screws and feed out sound insulation of upper part of bulkhead 03:30 Remove valve cover / cylinder head cover Pull off vacuum lines from vacuum tank Remove acoustic cover Remove ignition coils Unlock and pull off connectors from pulse generators Remove pulse generators Disconnect engine ventilation line Detach ground cable at screw connection Release cylinder head cover bolts in the sequence 12 to 1 Pull out friction wheel with mechanical unlocking and lock on locking hook 07:25 Remove friction gear & drive wheel for water pump Disconnect plug connection, unfasten screws and remove friction wheel Pretension belt tensioner and remove drive belt 08:58 Remove vibration damper 09:50 Timing tool kit The manual and automatic have their own flywheel locking tool 10:04 Remove front and rear underbody protection 10:24 Remove spark plugs 10:38 Lock the motor with the timing tools I use cable ties to determine the position of the engine pistons. All Pistons must be in the 90 ° position Positions for INLET and EXHAUST camshafts 1. cams Rotate crankshaft at central bolt and position crankshaft with special tool Flywheel is locked in place! It is worth painting with a paint pen one tooth from the flywheel for future reference I also use another flywheel locking tool (OPTIONAL) Place camshafts locking tool onto the camshafts and secure using the screws The timing is locked 15:46 Remove camshaft adjusters Remove chain tensioner Release guide rail upper screw Remove slide rail Release camshaft central bolts and take VANOS units off Don't drop anything inside the engine !! 17:43 Remove main bolt and timing chain Fit special tool 119280 on hub for vibration absorber Slightly increase the torsional force with my own special tool ;) Release guide rail bottom screws Pull hub off and carefully remove timing chain module in upward direction 20:27 Guide rail is damaged!
