The sea's calling me back home. I know it's sad to say goodbye, but that's how life is sometimes, so the best we can do is face it head-on with a smile. Thank you for letting me be your cute little shark. I'm sure our currents will cross again some time in the future. Man, April was rough for vtuber fans. But it's over now. Gura's graduation announcement didn't really surprise me with how inactive she's been lately and a lot of other people she was also close with have also graduated: Aqua and Shion as her oshis, Fauna as her kohai oshi, and Ame being the genmate she got along with the best. I don't blame her. She's also a shining example of suffering from success since the anxiety of being the #1 vtuber in the world got to her, to the point where there were times she couldn't eat or sleep. Doesn't make her departure any less sad since this is THE Gawr Gura stepping down. This really is the end of an era. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. We have Advent and Justice, who can fill the heavy shoes their Myth and Promise senpais have left them to fill. Also Calli is still here. Kiara is still here. Ina is still here. IRyS is still here. Kronii is still here. And Bae is still here. Sure, we have lost Ame, Fauna, Mumei, and now Gura (as well as Sana a long while ago), but instead of focusing on those who want to move on and crying about it, we can look to who's still here for the long haul and those who've yet to come. Gura has done so much over these almost 5 years. She is the most subbed vtuber and is arguably the face of Hololive and vtubers. She got to be a part of an aquarium event and was a tourist ambassador for a while. And who could forget her singing during the Dodgers Hololive collab and then they ended up winning the World Series. She's done so much and pushed through her fears and anxiety to make us happy and now, she can rest. She's more than earned it. Though I feel like she'd return as Senwaza unless she rebrands like what Fauna/LemonLeaf/Nimi did. Imagine in the near future we get a Dooby, Nimi, and Senwaza collab? But yeah, I will say this was a bit rushed since I had like a week to finish this and the ones for Shion and Mumei. It would have been nice to space these graduations out more, but maybe that's just ripping off the bandage. I do wish I could have done a little better with the visual but I literally made it yesterday and I was pressed for time to get this video done before the graduation stream. Song is the Holofunk version of her old bgm Sharkventure like what I did for Ame. Just swapped out Ame's part to Ina and Calli and Kiara take Aloe's side swapping too. So yeah, as long as there's no more surprises, maybe I can finally return to my backlog of covers. Thank you for these almost 5 years. You've reached the top and now you want to rest.
