One of the most common communication impairments a medical SLP will work with is aphasia. Aphasia is a disorder that impacts language expression and/or language comprehension. However, Aphasia isn’t just one simple diagnosis. There are actually 6 types of aphasia - and many patients can demonstrate symptoms of more than one type!
