In this week's episode, we are blessed with perfect weather as we finally make our way to the top of Kings Canyon completing the breathtaking 6km rim walk circuit. At the very start, we couldn't believe we had to climb a flight of 500 rocky steps to reach the top but our breaths were instantly taken away by not just the steep incline but also by the breathtaking views that surrounded around us. The twin rocks are one of the first stops on the Kings Canyon Rim Walk, the circuit covers some of the most magical sights in Kings Canyon that provides a bird's eye view of the desert landscape. The one-way hike begins with a steep climb up 500 steps, before proceeding to Priscilla’s Crack and the first lookout across the canyon, where you can take in 360-degree views. Kings Canyon is a destination listed on a lot of bucket lists. With rugged sandstone walls, deep valleys and impressive views across the desert it’s not hard to see why. Located in the Northern Territory within Watarrka National Park, Kings Canyon is one of the most spectacular sites to visit in Australia’s Red Centre.   Standing here at the rim, taking in the stunning views, it feels like a dream come true. This has been a destination we've longed for, envisioned so many times, yet nothing could have truly prepared us for this life changing moment. The towering canyon walls, shaped by the hands of time, stretch endlessly before us. The raw beauty, so vast and ancient, surrounds us and leaves us completely in awe. To stand on this sacred ground, gazing out over the endless expanse of the outback, feels profoundly humbling as if we’ve stepped into another world where time stands still. This place is more than a landmark, it’s a powerful reminder of how small we are in this magnificent world and how lucky we are to witness such a natural wonder firsthand. It’s the kind of experience that steals your breath, urging you to pause, reflect and soak in every precious detail, the crisp clean air, the peaceful silence and the sunlight painting the canyon walls in hues of gold and red. Being here, after dreaming about it for so long, feels nothing short of magical.
