Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland - UNESCO World Heritage Site

The UNESCO World Heritage site of the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland is an area of central Sweden that's home to decorated farmhouses. But these farmhouses aren't decorated on the outside - they're decorated on the inside! Although the farmers in this area were wealthy, they couldn't afford to import expensive materials like marble or French wallpaper - but they could definitely afford to paint perfect imitations! There's seven farmhouses on the World Heritage List like this, and although most of them aren't open to the public, we managed to visit one along with several similar others that aren't on the List.
