CHIJMES. 30 Victoria St, Singapore 187996 CHIJMES is a historic building complex in Singapore, which began life as a Catholic convent known as the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus. The complex is located at Victoria Street in the Downtown Core, within the Central Area, Singapore's central business district. It was founded in 1854 by the Founder was Father Jean-Marie Beurel. The Architect was George Drumgoole Coleman, build as Caldwell House (1840–1841); Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus Chapel (1904); Saint Nicholas Girls' School (1951). Today, Chijmes is one of the top food and beverage, entertainment and lifestyle destinations located in the heart of Singapore's Civic and Cultural District. Boasting beautiful courtyards and cosy alfresco dining areas, it plays host to a wide array of restaurants serving international cruisines, satylish bars and hip cafes. It houses two National Monuments, CHIJMES Hall and Caldwell House with the latter being the second oldest building in Singapore and the oldest building within the Complex. Thank you to ALL Members.
