AWARD WINNING Animation Explaining Excitation Contraction Coupling & Muscle Contraction

📝 Find notes here: https://www.nonstopneuron.com/post/ex... 🌐 Explore our entire animation video library at: https://www.nonstopneuron.com/ Video Summary: From the nerve, the signal is transmitted to muscle fiber at the neuromuscular junction. The action potential spreads along the entire surface of the membrane. It penetrates deeper into the cell through T tubules. T tubules have L-type Ca channels that open in response to this action potential. Their opening physically opens Ca release channels. Through both these channels, Ca enters the sarcoplasm. Then it binds with troponin. It moves the tropomyosin away from the binding site for myosin. So now the myosin head binds and pulls the actin towards the center of the sarcomere. The cross-bridge cycle keeps repeating as long as Ca concentration stays high and the binding site on actin is exposed. Eventually Ca is released from troponin and the cycle stops. Na-Ca exchanger and Ca pump on T table and SERCA on sarcoplasmic reticulum moves Ca out of the cytoplasm. This decreases cytosolic Ca concentration which in fact is the reason for the release of Ca from troponin in the first place. ⚠ Watching the below video is must before watching this video: Physiological Anatomy of Skeletal Muscles:    • Structure of a Skeletal Muscle Fiber ...   📽 More videos on Musculoskeletal System: • Neuromuscular Junction & Transmission:    • Neuromuscular Junction Structure & Ne...   • Physiological Anatomy of Skeletal Muscles:    • Structure of a Skeletal Muscle Fiber ...   • Pathophysiology of Myasthenia Gravis:    • Pathophysiology of Myasthenia Gravis   • Treatment of Myasthenia Gravis:    • Treatment of Myasthenia Gravis   ● Follow me at: • Instagram:   / nonstopneuron   • Facebook:   / nonstopneuron   Chapters 00:00 Intro 00:26 Relevant Anatomy 02:50 Excitation Contraction Coupling 05:09 Myosin Cross Bridge Cycle 06:36 Muscle Contraction 07:34 Termination of Action 08:47 Summary Dr Vipul Navadiya DISCLAIMER: This video is for education purposes only.
