In 1906, the SS Valencia, sailing with the Pacific Coast Steamship Company, ran aground off the coast of Vancouver Island. She couldn’t have found a worse area to wreck. The violent waves and rocky cliffs that line the coastline made it nearly impossible for her passengers and crew to make it to the shore only a few meters away.
