Chakra Efendi grew up between two worlds. Travelling between his father’s home village in Indonesia and his home in Australia, and taking inspiration from both his ex-radio DJ mum’s love for post punk and his dad’s EDM/Hip Hop obsession. Supported by his stellar live band, Chakra Efendi graced Studio 3 to bring their noise-tinged brand of lo-fi pop to Right Here, Right Now. Since his teens, Chakra Efendi has used late nights as a sufferer of insomnia to hone his songwriting skills to form the backbone of his poetic, introspective and cathartic solo work. His recently released debut EP ‘Until The Children Grow Old’, is full of heavy-lidded lyricism laid over sullen yet uplifting soundscape and saw some seriously strong zedplay.
