We’re calling this one the *Dandenong Ranges Loop* 🌿 The route passes through a mix of well-maintained forest tracks and a few road sections. You’ll experience tall mountain ash trees, peaceful surroundings, and especially stunning scenery on Mathias Track — definitely the highlight of the hike! 📍 Hike Details Distance: 13 km loop Time Taken: 3 – 3.5 hours Difficulty: Moderate Track Condition: Mostly well-maintained Highlights: Mathias Track scenery, peaceful forest trails ⚠️ Things to Know Before You Go Very limited parking at the start No toilets or drinking water facilities Some sections require walking on roads We encountered a few fallen trees on the track Carry enough water and snacks Despite these, the trail is quiet, scenic, and perfect if you want a longer hike away from the crowds. 📍 Distance from Melbourne CBD Approx. 45–50 km from Melbourne CBD Driving Time: ~1 hr 15 mins 🚗 A great *half-day or morning hike* from Melbourne.
