#applecider #appleciderdoughnuts #redharesanddaffodils #redhearesanddaffodilshomestead I stumbled across the BEST recipe which replicates an apple orchard or pumpkin patch apple cider doughnut - and we had to make them! Please enjoy the video for a sweet treat at the end :) APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS Ingredients: 1 1/2 cup apple cider (reduced down to 1/2 cup earlier in the day - allow to cool) 2 C AP flour 1 tsp baking soda 3/4 tsp baking powder 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp apple pie spice 1/4 tsp salt 2 Tbsp butter melted 1 egg 1/2 C packed brown sugar 1/2 C sugar 1/2 C milk 1 tsp vanilla extract/paste Topping Ingredients: 1 cup sugar 3/4 tsp cinnamon 3/4 tsp apple pie spice 6 Tbsp butter melted Directions: 1. Reduce apple cider on stove top till it's reduced down to 1/2 cup 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray donut pan with non-stick spray and set aside. 3. Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, apple pie spice, salt together. Set aside. 4. Mix melted butter, egg, brown sugar, sugar, milk, and vanilla together. Pour into the dry ingredients. Add in the reduced apple cider. Batter will appear slightly thick. 5. Pour batter into Ziploc bag and fill donut cup halfway. 6. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until edges are slightly brown. To add topping to donuts: Combine all dry ingredients together (sugar, cinnamon, apple pie spice). Quickly dunk each donut top in melted and cooled butter then generously apply the apple spice topping. TIP: Don't have apple pie spice in your spice cabinet? Its easy to replicate - simply add 4 tsp ground cinnamon, 2 tsp ground nutmeg and 1 tsp ground cardamom together. Huzzah! Easy as -- Pie! :) PLEASE Don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE for more baking and homestead content! Hugs and Loves, Kate
