The idea of this activity is to have a whole body connection. To begin, you need to be standing and sway your hips slowly back and forth, in a figure 8. As you do this you can close your eyes or keep them open. But as you move, think about how big or small you want this figure 8 to be, or just feel and play around with it. Does it need to be bigger? Does it need to be smaller? Pay attention to what you like or don’t like, you can also play around with the pace. Remember you are in control of your body, so you can make it as large or as fast as you want. Once you have felt this movement for a while, you can slowly bring yourself back to center. As you come back to the center, you may decide you want to rock or sway before you become still.
