Two major trials. Two cases where the prosecution's confidence is meeting courtroom reality. Defense attorney Bob Motta joins Tony Brueski and Robin Dreeke for comprehensive analysis of the Kouri Richins murder trial and the Colin Gray school shooting case. In Utah, the state's own former Chief Medical Examiner dropped a bombshell the prosecution didn't want: Eric Richins' death certificate still says "undetermined"—not homicide—after four years. The drug-chain witnesses can't agree on whether fentanyl or oxycodone changed hands. Carmen Lauber admitted a detective told her "the goal is to convict Kouri for aggravated murder" before she testified. Hair follicle tests that could have shown whether Eric was a chronic user were never performed. The copperware wasn't tested. The kitchen wasn't searched. In Georgia, Colin Gray bet everything on his own testimony—and may have lost. His daughter told jurors he asked her to "cover for him." His wife said she begged him to lock up the guns. Text messages showed his son warning "the blood is on your hands" weeks before Apalachee High School. Colin says he thought it was about Colt's mother. The morning of the shooting: Colt texted "I'm sorry… it's not your fault" at 9:42 a.m. Colin responded but didn't call the school. Didn't leave work. First shots at 10:22 a.m. Then he stopped at QuikTrip for a drink on his way home instead of going to the school. Bob Motta breaks down both cases. What does the Richins prosecution need to accomplish in the remaining weeks? Has the defense already established reasonable doubt? What must Colin Gray's attorneys hammer home in 90 minutes of closing arguments? And why did prosecutors go after Colin but not Colt's mother Marcee? Two juries. Two verdicts coming. The analysis you won't hear anywhere else. Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
