In this episode we visit the spectacular Palermo Cathedral (and climb onto the roof for incredible views), wander through the famous Quattro Canti, see the controversial Fountain of Shame, and dive into the atmosphere of Ballarò Market where we try traditional Sicilian street food. We tour the magnificent Teatro Massimo – the largest opera house in Italy and famous for The Godfather Part III – and learn about Sicily’s past at the No Mafia Memorial and the Wall of Legality. There’s time for plenty of food of course: arancini, cannoli, pistachio pastries and granita. Not to mention a visit to the eerie but fascinating Capuchin Catacombs, one of the most unique experiences in Europe. We finish with puppets at the Antonio Pasqualino Museum, coastal views, and our honest thoughts about what makes Palermo so unforgettable.
