1. Mighty Fortress is God, the Eternal; Firm in Him our faith has foundation. His great love, heavenly and paternal Shelters us in all tribulation. There's naught on earth we shall fear, for God is always near, and He protects us. Though our foe is assailing, Our Almighty God is unfailing. 2. Those who in their own strength are confiding Will be lost in darkness forever. Those, instead, who in God are abiding Will have His help; He faileth never. Our Saviour rules from His throne and will defend His own. He'll give us virtue. He's our King ever glorious, And in Him we shall be victorious. 3. Life for us is in God's Word eternal; It must be exalted forever. Our firm Shelter is God's Word supernal; Strong, unmoving, It changeth never. The tempter never will cease his work to steal our peace, but we’ll have vict'ry.
