In this 90 minute yin yoga practice we will be working with the heart centre (anahata chakra) to develop love, compassion and kindness within ourselves, so we are in a position to share more of this with others. This practice came to me one morning in response to the many current world issues that exist only because we forget that we are all one, if we remembered that how could we treat others / ourselves in any other way than with love, compassion and kindness? We begin with an extended focus on breath and energy awareness (around 15 mins) before moving into the physical practice, working most of the body but especially opening the heart centre. When we finally reach our savasana, we are supported by the sound of the gong. If at any stage during the practice you are motivated to silently chant a mantra that can stimulate the flow of prana to the heart, chant "Om Hrim Yam" (ohm hreem yum) with the focus on the heart.
