An epic adventure by two men whose average age is 51 but who feel and behave like they are 15! I'm excited in this video to go bike packing with my friend "Dave-Dave" for an overnight wild camp near Covehithe in Suffolk, 130 km round trip. The route heads south from Reedham Ferry through beautiful Norfolk and then arrive at the cliffs at Covehithe some 65km later. We explore the cliffs and St. Andrew's Church (dating from 1400), a church within a church! Like a Russian doll toy! After finding a field, we pitch our wild camp and compare TENT v TARP. Unfortunately, we are attacked by swarms of mosquitoes...Arrgh! So its necessary to build a small fire, in order that the smoke keeps them away. Sun rise the next day at 05:26 and its Pain au Chocolates, porridge, sausage sandwiches and REAL coffee. A grey misty morning. The sun somewhat obscured by the rolling sea fret or Haar, but warm and dry. Bad news for Dave, who has a puncture before we even set off at around 07:30. We ride back to the beach and Dave-Dave bravely ventures into the murky North Sea for an invigorating wild swim and dip. Resupply at the village shop in Southwold and across the Bailey Bridge at Walberswick. It's GAVEL once more on 23mm tyres!!! - Who needs a Gravel Bike? We ride north and the sun burns off the mist as temperatures soar! We reach Harleston and a well earned coffee stop at a local cafe (The Apiary Cafe). The final few kilometers are punctuated by - punctures! Two more for Dave-Dave, to be precise. With no more spare inner tubes we have to route direct to Norwich (A Fine City) and back home. Thanks for watching. Cheers
