Dr. Hammam Yahya, MD, MBA. Born and raised in Palestine and received his medical degree from the University of Jordan in 2010. Worked afterwards with Doctors Without Borders, then joined the psychiatric residency at UNM and graduated in 2018. He is the recipient of the American Psychoanalytic Association fellowship in 2018 and has been an inpatient psychiatrist at UNM Mental Health Center since 2018. Dr. Yahya received his Masters of Business Administration from Anderson College of administration in 2023 and has been the medical director of inpatient psychiatric services since 2019. He has been the safety and quality officer of the department of psychiatry since 2023 and then became the executive medical director of adult behavioral health at UNMH in 2024. Dr. Yahya has 2 published works in Arabic, a book about depression titled “How We Get Depressed and How We Recover”, and a poetry collection titled “Edges.”. Learning Objectives: 1. Identifying at least five major dimensions in which psychiatrists differ/disagree 2. Identifying some of the factors that have contributed to psychiatric disagreement 3.
