Hello! Welcome to The Treadle Diaries - thank you so much for joining me. In this video I am hand quilting my patchwork cottage-style quilt that I'm making as a Christmas present for my niece. It's a simple charm square pattern but the effect of those beautiful ditsy floral fabrics is just what I wanted for this fleece-lined quilt. I love slow stitching, and on a cold winter evening there's nothing better than sitting by the fire stitching away under a very very warm quilt! You'll also see me learning more about my 1917 Singer Treadle sewing machine as I try to fix the stitch length and pressure. With the help of a comment from one lovely viewer and a digital copy of the original Singer 66k manual, I finally work out what has been going wrong.
