After hiding behind clouds for a full day, Chimborazo finally revealed itself in the cold morning light — and seemed to follow us as we rode on. Our journey took us south through open Andean roads and small towns until we reached El Tambo, where a hot shower felt like real luxury. Not far away lies Ingapirca, Ecuador’s most important Inca-Cañari site. Instead of joining a tour, we explored the ancient ruins at our own pace. From there, we continued toward Cuenca, riding through rolling hills, seeing roadside donkeys and sun-drying cocoa beans — reminded once again that the road between destinations often tells the best stories. Let’s say Nabón made us work for our bed that night.
