Easy & Tasty Kerala Style Pork Roast | Pork Ularthiyathu | How to make Kerala Style Pork Fry This Kerala-style Pork Roast is packed with bold, spicy flavors and a unique twist — a touch of hing (asafoetida / kayam) that adds amazing aroma and depth to the dish! Tender pork pieces are slow-cooked with coconut slices, curry leaves, and roasted spices in coconut oil until coated with a rich, thick masala — perfectly balancing spice and flavor. It’s a comforting, homely dish that goes so well with steamed rice, appam, or Kerala parotta. Simple to make, yet full of authentic Kerala taste — this pork roast is a must-try for all pork lovers! Pork Recipes Playlist : click the link 👇 • Pork Recipes Ingredients : 500 gms Pork with Fat (cleaned & cut into medium pieces) 1 to 2 tbsp Coconut Oil (use as per your diet restrictions) ½ tsp Mustard Seeds (rai) ½ cup (30 gms) Coconut Slices (nariyal ke patle tukde, thenga kottu) 18 to 20 (20 gms) Garlic (finely chopped) ½ inch (10 gms) Ginger (finely chopped) 1 sprig Curry Leaves 2 medium (150 gms) Onion (finely chopped) ½ tsp Turmeric Powder (haldi powder) 1.5 tsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder (use more or less as per your spice tolerance) 1.5 tsp Coriander Powder (dhania powder) 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder (kali mirch powder) ½ tsp Garam Masala Powder (use either homemade or store-bought) ½ tsp Fennel Powder (saunf powder, perumjeerakam podi) ¼ tsp Asafoetida (optional but recommended) (hing, kayam) ½ tsp Salt (as per taste) 1.5 tsp Vinegar (sirka) 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder (kali mirch powder) ½ tsp Garam Masala Powder 1 sprig Curry Leaves 1.5 tsp Vinegar (sirka) 🔸 Tips: Keep the flame on medium-low while cooking. Stir occasionally so the masala doesn’t stick to the bottom. If you notice the masala drying up before the meat softens, sprinkle a little hot water, cover again, and continue cooking. The pork is ready when it becomes soft to press and the oil starts separating from the masala.
