Ranger William from the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is joined by Jason Melius to discuss the impact of the French & Indian War on the Southern colonies. Jason is a researcher, archivist, and Public Historian. He is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University and UNC Greensboro, and has years of experience as an archivist and Historic Interpreter. Jason is currently the Site Interpreter at Fort Dobbs State Historic Site in Statesville, North Carolina, where he focuses on the French & Indian War and the role played by the Southern colonies. In the "Trail Talk" series, Ranger William from the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail interviews a series of historians and researchers on topics related to Early America, the American Revolution, and the Southern Frontier. These conversations give a better understanding of the world surrounding the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution, and specifically the events that took place on the Overmountain Victory Trail and the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780.
