December 22/23, 2025 ~ Northern Ontario On my way south for Christmas I was able to intercept some action between Cochrane and Temagami, Ontario. Starting off in Cochrane we see the Polar Bear Express arriving and then the yard job quickly takes over. Not long after the freight arrives from Moosonee with just a handful of cars. We watch a few switch moves before I head south for a few hours of rest in the dodge hotel. The following morning its just early as 207 gets a track warrant north out of Englehart bound for Timmins. We intercept just after 0600 and then continue to 40 miles to Englehart to refresh with a fresh cup of coffee. Next, its now time to follow 214 south down the Great Clay Belt and into the rugged Canadian Shield along the northern route of the Trans Canada Highway.
