Kafulafuta Water Supply Project Commissioned

The 449-million dollars Kafulafuta water supply project on the Copperbelt has been commissioned. Speaking today in Masaiti district when he commissioned the completed project, President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has committed to finishing all incomplete projects. President HICHILEMA has explained that the Kafulafuta Dam project, which started in 2018, had stalled during the previous government but the UPND government revived and has completed it. The President has directed the Ministry of Agriculture to take advantage of the dam and ensure economic activities such as irrigation are sustained. Meanwhile, Water Development Minister, COLLINS NZOVU has said the Kafulafuta water supply project had halted due a loan default by the previous government, therefore works lagged behind by 32 months. And Kafulafuta Dam Project Manager, CHEN MING has said a number of Zambians were employed during the construction phase, while Kafubu Water and Sanitation Managing Director, JOE MBEWE says the dams provides for more water supply connections. #Kafulafuta #Hichilema
