The World’s Smartest Lake: Darrin Fresh Water Institute & Jefferson Project - 12/1/20

Join the RAA Hudson-Mohawk Chapter for a virtual discussion of Lake George in the Adirondacks, known as the Queen of American Lakes. Dr. Rick Relyea (Director of the Jefferson Project) and Michael Zwack ’11 (RAA Hudson-Mohawk Chapter Officer) will host the event. Dr. Relyea will provide unique insights into how Rensselaer has partnered with IBM Research and The FUND for Lake George in making Lake George the “World’s Smartest Lake,” using cutting-edge technology that is now being utilized across NY State with additional interest across the United States. This project goes far beyond biology to include centers and departments across the entire campus, including computer science, engineering, architecture, the arts, and immersive games for public outreach. Dr Relyea also serves as the David M. Darrin ’40 Senior Endowed Chair and Director of the Darrin Fresh Water Institute.
