A year ago, I found a piece of art at Goodwill for $5. I brought it home… and then I couldn’t touch it. I wanted to paint over it, transform it, make it mine but something held me back. Perfectionism. Fear of ruining it. Fear of proving I wasn’t “good enough.” So it sat. In this video, I finally paint over the piece… and after many layers of paint and collage, I end up ruining it. Or at least, that’s how I feel about it. This is my honest confession about: • Waiting too long to begin • The pressure to make something “beautiful” • What happens when we create anyway • And why ruining something might actually be the point If you’ve ever been afraid to start… afraid to mess up… or afraid that your art won’t live up to the vision in your head, this is for you. Creating art isn’t about control. It’s about courage. Even though this painting wasn't the outcome I expected, I enjoyed making it. Let me know in the comments: What’s something you’ve been afraid to start?
