On 10-07-2025 at 1345 hours, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol requested assistance from Wagoner County Deputies. An Oklahoma State Trooper was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle Southbound on U.S. Highway 69 from the Pryor area. The vehicle pursuit continued South into Wagoner County and as the suspect approached the construction zone North of Wagoner, deputies joined the pursuit. The pursuit continued Southbound through the City of Wagoner until the suspect’s vehicle was immobilized by a State Trooper using stop sticks near the S Curves South of Wagoner. The suspect’s vehicle became immobile, and the pursuit ended South of the S Curves on U.S. Highway 69 in the Center Median. After the vehicle came to a stop in the center median of U.S. Highway 69, a small grass fire ignited due to dry conditions and vehicle contact. Stevens of Carlton, MN. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office and booked into same. Tyler L. Stevens was charged with the following by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol: Running a Roadblock, Endangering others while eluding Police Officer, Receive, Possess, Conceal Stolen Vehicle, and Reckless Driving. Wagoner County Sheriff Chris Elliott stated “I commend the professionalism and swift response demonstrated by the Wagoner County Deputies who assisted the Oklahoma Highway Patrol during this pursuit. Their coordinated efforts ensured the apprehension of the suspect without further incident and prevented potential property damage resulting from the fire.
