8 - Milestone reached, footings are done

This time Karin (my better half) joined me. It was her first time to spend the night (let alone multiple nights) and she was as bit unsure about how she’d feel about sharing a bucket to do your business in. I’m happy to report she loved it. Well, not necessarily the bucket, but the entire experience of being in nature and living a simple but very satisfying life. Karin worked on 2 new seating area’s: one that’s got a view over the valley and the other one’s close to the cabin where you can enjoy your cup of coffee in the first rays of the sun. I poured the last footing for the wooden deck. I spent the last year creating 20 footings and it took 8 bags of concrete mix on average per footing. That’s not taking the last 4 into account. Those took 16 bags on average. Interesting to note that a bag holds 25kg. We moved the water tanks close to their final resting place. Since I also hauled lumber for the wood structure, I’m hoping to make some serious progress on the wood structure next episode. Then again, I’m also planning to work on the first of 4 concrete walls. And I need to bring out the brush cutter…and the chainsaw. Also, I need to remove quite some dirt from under the washroom to be. There’s a lot to be done basically.
