An upside for many a record collector is that since most aren’t into Classical Music, one may find the disc they want for a very solid price. This just so happened to be me, when I was looking for this particular recording. I do enjoy Classical Music, and it’s much more exciting than one may think! Beethoven’s famous Overture to Egmont (Opera 84) was first recorded around 1903, but wasn’t recorded in full until 1926, when Columbia and Victor made their own recordings of the powerful tune. Since I’ve recorded both sides of this record, there’s a brief pause when switching the sides. For this, I apologize for breaking the musical tension. Either way, I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Anyhow, the Wagon is leaving in 30 seconds, you ought to get on (elite ball knowledge for those who know). Recorded July 14th, 1926 in New York City, directed by Josef Pasternack. #1920s #1920smusic #beethoven #classicalmusic #78rpm #gutsandblackpowder
