When designing their 15th Pierce apparatus, the Township of Woodlands Fire Department’s apparatus committee had three things in mind: function, safety, and comfort. As the summer months in the Houston area can get pretty warm, this PUC Pumper has a Coleman onboard air conditioner that runs anytime the vehicle is parked within the station – giving the department the advantage to pre-cool the bunker gear and equipment that’s stored inside of the wide Velocity cab. The rear of the apparatus features a lowered hosebed and ladder rack, as well as a backboard compartment for ALS responses.
