Rare footage of a 1975 stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel, St Georges. Arrival on Pam Am, passengers disembarking at Kindley Field Airport. Exteriors of the Hotel, Fort St. Catherine, Gates Bay and Tobacco Bay. Front entrance with gun and a very small Holiday Inn sign next to the Bermuda Coat of Arms - no illuminated American roadside sign in Bermuda! A stop at Fort St. Catherine with an amazingly clear glimpse of the Crown Jewels! Drinks on the patio! A good time is underway with 2 bottles running.... Swizzle Cruise to Hawkins Island on the Susanna, entertainer on a banjo - Stan Seymour, known as "Lord Necktie" and the little blue Kitson swizzle cups are in use... an island stop for lunch and Stan is hanging out with the tourists. A quick shot walking around outside with pint mugs of beer (Somerset?) Lunch outside at the Elbow Beach Hotel, then some quick stops at the Whaler Inn and views over Hamilton Harbor. A visit to the Botanical Gardens, a great day for flowers then a stop at the Castle Harbour Hotel to watch the golf. A chat with the Taxi driver at "La Cachetia"? then back to the hotel, drinks at the pool. The hotel was never a successful concern. It was built on Fort Victoria and would have been 2 years old in this film, in 1981 it became the Loews Bermuda Beach hotel and in 1985 it became the Club Med - St. Georges Cove. In 2008 it was imploded after years of neglect and hurricane damage.
