These Brown Butter Rice Krispies are inspired by an Alton Brown Pantry Raid video on YouTube: • Pantry Raid: Krispy Rice Treat Edition I saw during this video during quarantine and had to give it a go. These brown butter rice krispies treats are very simple to make. This is a step by step video in how to make my version of the recipe. Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats Double batch (big batch) 1 box rice krispies 2 bags small marshmallows 1 cup unsalted butter 2 tablespoons vanilla extract Aluminum foil Roll out 2 pieces of aluminum foil overlapping on a surface (foil should be about 3 ft X 3 ft or close to it) and spray with cooking spray (Pam) In a large pot, brown the butter (melt it on medium high and continue to cook the butter constantly stirring until you see brown specs developing on the surface of the pot). Turn heat down to low/medium and add all marshmallows and stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and almost liquid-like. Remove pot from heat Add vanilla extract and mix Add all rice krispies and mix until everything is combined and very gooey. Empty contents onto aluminum foil and gently flatten out into a rectangle about 1 inch thick) . Do not press down hard on the mixture or it will get tough. If it sticks to your hand, spray your hand with cooking spray. At this point either start pulling them apart to eat as i do or you can let them set for 10-15 minutes and cut them up into whatever shape you like.
