What if Ned Stark Survived and Told Jon Snow the Truth? Let's explore the depths of it in the video. Cersei Lannister runs up to Ned Stark, shielding him from the guards and Ser Ilyn’s blade. Cersei: No! The queen's voice slices through the air like a whip. The plaza falls into a stunned silence. What did you just say? Are you defying the King? Cersei: You will do no such thing. We gave Lord Stark our word—should he confess, we would let him take the black. Joffrey: I gave no such agreement! I am the king! Cersei: And I am your mother. Shall I kneel beside him then? Will you have my head struck off as well? Joffrey grumbles. Murmurs ripple through the crowd. Ser Ilyn hesitates. Cersei: Let him take the black. Let the North see that the crown keeps its word. Or do you wish them all to rise against us? Joffrey scowls, fists clenched. Joffrey: You ruin everything! As Joffrey sees he has no other choice, he storms off in one of his usual fits, cursing his mother's name as he goes. Ser Ilyn slowly lowers his greatsword. Ned Stark Lives Varys walks over to Cersei in his usual calm and deliberate manner. Varys: You may have just spared the realm a war, Your Grace… though I wonder at the cost of peace in your own household. Chains rattle as the door creaks open. Ned Stark, gaunt but alive, blinks against the torchlight. Yoren of the Night’s Watch enters with a grim nod. Yoren: Time to ride, Lord Stark. Ned: Not a lord, not anymore. Yoren: Aye, maybe not, but you’ll always be a Stark. Black or not. I have something you’ll want to see. Ned rises slowly, each movement heavy with pain. But no wound cuts deeper than the shame of the lie he told to keep his head. As Ned and Yoren journey outside of the keep, Ned is greeted by a sight he never thought he’d see. : Father!! She rushes into his arms. For a moment, Ned doesn’t move. Then he wraps her in a tight embrace, holding on like a drowning man clinging to shore. In his daughter’s arms, a piece of him begins to mend. Arya: I was so scared…I thought they’d take your head. Ned: Aye, so did I, little one. But I’m here now, and you’re here. That’s all that matters right now. Arya: What you said in front of everyone… about treason. It wasn’t true, was it? You’d never betray King Robert. She pulls back just enough to look up at him, her eyes wide and burning. Ned: No, it wasn’t true. But sometimes, Arya… sometimes a lie can save lives. Arya: But you said lies are for cowards. Ned: And soldiers. And fathers who wish to keep their daughters safe. He brushes a hand against her cheek. His voice is steady, but there’s sorrow behind every word. Ned: I chose dishonor so I could see your face again. So Sansa would be safe. I’ll bear that shame... For as long as I must. The journey takes a long time. In the meantime, Stannis Baratheon and Renly Baratheon ready their banners, both of which claim the Iron Throne. While Ned Stark lives, the lion and the wolf have already drawn blood. The young wolf has won every battle, even capturing Jaime Lannister, the kingslayer. Robb has amassed his host at the great halls of riverrun, where they discuss the next moves in the war. The hall is crowded. Northern and Riverland lords gather beneath vaulted stone arches. Rain pounds the high windows. Robb Stark stands at the foot of the dais. Catelyn is seated at her father’s side. Lords Karstark, Umber, Mormont, Blackwood, and Bolton stand among others. Greatjon: You’ve got the young wolf at your back, swords in every hand from Bear Island to the neck. Why are we still waiting? Jaime’s rotting in chains—let’s strike! Roose: And hand our advantage over to Tywin by marching blind? We must think, not bark like hounds. Rickard: They butchered my sons. Would you have me think on that as I sit idle? Tytos Blackwood: The riverlands stand with the North, but not for blood alone. Tell us Robb Stark—what do you fight for now? Robb looks up to open his mouth and speak, just as the doors burst open. All heads turn. The tall oaken doors groan on the iron hinges. Two cloaked figures step in, wet with road dust and rain. The guards move to intercept, but freeze. One figure lowers his hood. Gasps ripple across the room. Catelyn: ….Ned? Robb: Father… stands in the hall, thin, tired, but upright. At his side, Arya, dirt-streaked and fierce, glares at the crowd like a wolf pup ready to bite. #gameofthrones #gameofthroneswhatif #nedstark #jonsnow
