Mabel Tylecote Building Here is a short video of a complex project involving façade retention and hand separation works to a Grade 2 listed building in a ‘live’ city centre environment Manchester Metropolitan University. Connell Brothers Ltd (CBL) were appointed to carry out the asbestos removal works and demolition of the former Mabel Tylecote Building on Oxford Road in Manchester City Centre, in a live student campus. The Mabel Tylecote building was abutted and tied into the neighbouring grade II listed Manchester School of Arts building which was to remain live throughout the demolition project. The former façade (grade II Listed) of the Cholton-on-Medlock Town Hall which had been retained in the 70’s was tied into grade II listed Manchester School of Arts building and the 70’s Mabel Tylecote Structure. As part of the works CBL constructed a façade retention scheme to protect the listed façade.
