I showcase 5 ways I added or changed some simple things to customize my early American style into something that was accurate to the American frontier. This is another "how I" video and not meant to be a "how to." I want to help you enrich your experience with what you already may have or with what is easily within reach. I have been helped so many times by people that could just show me the next right step. If I can pay that forward to even one person in this audience it is a step forward. Always onward. Below are some links and descriptions for vendors that I mention in the video. I know several of the proprietors personally. I don't get free stuff from them so take this as a genuine endorsement. 1. [email protected] : This is Matt Brenckle, one of the most prolific and well researched hat makers out there. Many thanks to him for letting me steal some of his research and put it in the video. 2. https://www.townsends.us: Jon is on his way to having one of everything 18th Century. He has a myriad of goods and clothing. Like many, I remember when his father was one of two or three vendors that had anything for the 18th century re-enactor. Now look at it! 3. https://www.southunionmills.com: This is a great vendor for very well researched and well executed 18th century (and more) goods and clothing. The Excelsior line of clothing is on another level in terms of accurate cut and appearance while being affordable. 4. [email protected]: Rob's blankets are well researched works of art. He has put the most research and effort of anyone I know into the blankets that warmed Early America. I hope to have one of each of his styles before he retires! As always thanks to Deke Wiggins for the excellent guitar music. I hope you enjoy. The next couple of videos will go back to documenting frontier skills ways of life.
