Dr. Barbara J. Coffey, MD, MS is a nationally recognized child and adolescent psychiatrist and one of the leading experts in Tourette Syndrome and tic disorders. She currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and is a clinician-researcher dedicated to improving care for children and families affected by neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Coffey has spent decades advancing research, clinical care, and education related to Tourette Syndrome, tic disorders, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She currently serves as Director of the Tourette Association of America Center of Excellence, where she leads multidisciplinary programs focused on diagnosis, treatment, and research. Her work has contributed significantly to understanding the neurobiology and treatment of tic disorders, and she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and clinical guidelines in the field. Dr. Coffey is widely respected for her commitment to patient-centered care and for mentoring the next generation of clinicians and researchers working in Tourette Syndrome and related conditions.
