From Frozen Roads to Hot Jambalaya — Friday the 13th Truck Camping Adventure

In this adventure we changed plans; instead of going north this time, we traveled southwest again to the Canaan Valley area. Our original trail proved to be treacherous, so we abandoned that route and made way for a more familiar area about an hour east. There was a closure at this trail about 4 miles in, but was fortunate enough to find a spot to camp before the sun started to set. We set up for the night as the temperature dropped, gathered and processed some firewood, then made a ol' big pot of Jambalaya in the spirit of (at the time of recording) the upcoming Mardi Gras. The following day we braved the frozen stairs leading down to a frozen waterfall to behold its stunning beauty. Uncertainty ended up being a blessing, and the following day turned out to be beautiful - very mild and sunny.
