Interrogated by UK Counter Terror Police - An interview with journalist Kit Klarenberg

Truth Defence's new Editor-in-Chief Mohamed Elmaazi interviewed Kit about his experience of being questioned under "terror" legislation and interrogated about his political views and journalistic work for outlets such as The Grayzone, Mint Press News and The Dissenter. In what represents a frightening omen of things to come, for those challenging official narratives, Kit was served with a “Notice of Detention under Schedule 3 to the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019” and interrogated for 5 hours. He had no right to remain silent. He had no right to deny access to his electronic devices. Kit was not suspected of any crime. He was not charged with an offence. Yet refusal to answer any question — or to provide PINs and passwords to all of his electronic devices — is an offence under the law and could have resulted in his arrest and prosecution. Truth Defence exists to confront attacks on progressive political voices, whistleblowers, journalists and truth tellers of all kinds, which have become increasingly prevalent in societies which identify as democratic, including the UK.
