They like dragons. #1: The origin of the Dragonmaw clan is a bit of a controversial one. Rise of the Horde mentions the existance of the clan before the Horde invasion of Azeroth, but the clan is not apparently present on the alternate Draenor of Warlords. In addition, while there are no dragons native to Draenor, they, or similar creatures, were part of orcish folklore and myths. The name of the clan could also be a reference to other winged creatures of Draenor. #2: While most of the shamans of the Old Horde became warlocks, the chieftain of the Dragonmaw clan, Zuluhed the Whacked, was a notable exception to this rule. He was the last and only shaman to accompany the Horde in its invasion of Azeroth, and his visions led to the discovery of both the Demon Soul artifact and of Blackrock Mountain. Following the Horde's defeat, Zuluhed retreated to Draenor, where he is next seen leading the Dragonmaw there, and apparently having embraced warlock magics. #3: When Warchief Blackhand was assassinated by Orgrim Doomhammer, Zuluhed and his clan pledged their loyalty to Blackhand's sons, Rend and Maim. As such, following the Second War, the surviving Dragonmaws on Azeroth maintained an alliance with the Dark Horde of Blackrock Mountain. In fact, their enslaved red dragons were the main reason why Ner'zhul's orcs tried to secure the loyalty of Rend and Maim during the events of Beyond the Dark Portal. The Dragonmaw clan in the Wetlands came to be led by the son of Nekros Skullcrusher, Nek'rosh, who even came close to besieging Menethil Harbor before being stopped by Alliance adventurers. #4: During the Second War and shortly afterwards, the clan was divided into two. One part, under the leadership of Nekros Skullcrusher, nurtured the Horde's red dragons within Grim Batol. The other, led by Zuluhed the Whacked, joined Doomhammer in Lordaeron and, after the war, continued fighting against the Alliance from the dwarven fortress of Dun Algaz. #5: The leader of the Dragonmaw in Outland following Zuluhed's death was the fel orc named Overlord Mor'ghor, who, at some point during the Second War, had come into contact with Deathwing. Eventually, he was contacted by the black dragon Sinestra in Outland, where she promised the aid of the black dragonflight in exchange for the Dragonmaw handing over their Netherwing eggs. Those eggs were eventually used by Sinestra in the creation of the Twilight dragonflight. #6: The Dragonmaw clan on Azeroth continued their atempts to enslave dragons even after the destruction of the Demon Soul by using an artifact named the Demon Chain, which once carried the Soul and had a portion of its power. The Demon Chain was used to enslave a handful of black dragons, although the artifact was not as powerful as the Soul, resulting in cases where the dragon could free itself. Eventually, the Dragonmaw lost their black dragons and resorted to enslaving proto-dragons instead. #7: Following the Siege of Orgrimmar, Zaela and the other Dragonmaw orcs still loyal to Garrosh fled to Grim Batol, where they successfuly evaded scouts sent by Vol'jin. They were eventually contacted by the bronze dragon Kairozdormu, and, after gathering True Horde loyalists, were instrumental in Garrosh's escape and flight to Draenor.
