A biobank is a type of storage that keeps biological samples or collected tissue samples. These are kept in a systematic manner for research purposes. The biobanking process begins with scientists who go out on field trips to collect specimen, from that specimen a tissue sample is extracted. There are several ways of collecting tissue samples, such as taking muscle tissue from an organism before fixing the specimen in a preservative and taking a fin clip from the organism. In this video, we show you how and where tissue samples are stored and preserved. This video also displays the safety measures taken by the biobank operator and how the preserved tissue samples are used.
