I noticed some of the Classic songs in Forces have a lot of reverb to help make the instruments fill more space, which I think I get why they did that, back when I used soundfonts the instruments sounded very isolated and small, very weird, so reverb helped a lot. What I do now is to have many similar instruments play the same notes so they make sound effects, or move accompaniments to stereo so it feels fuller, but with this song I didn't know what to do with so little to work with, it would feel empty either way. Or so I thought, turns out I can fill space with sound by sorta doing a reverb effect, I just have to edit the decay values so the notes fade out slower, and also add some echo, stereo echo as I like to do. I did that in combination with the many instruments thing I described, and now it's great. Cool effect at 1:20. The Genesis can use one channel for samples at the expense of it not being FM, but you can turn that on and off on the fly, so I made it play an electric guitar behind the drums, and the way it intermitently cuts out sounds like it's oscillating or something, it couldn't have been better. About the picture: Took me 3 days to make, and a week of not knowing what to do. I wanted to make it look darker and destroyed and stuff, but darker colors didn't work with the Marble Garden sprites, and I'd have to draw the destruction myself and that's hard. The song's too happy for that anyways lol. Most sprites are from Sonic and El Viento, some are from Animaniacs, and some I drew myself, like the fences, the windows (edited), some stuff in the bridge, and the grass in the back. The Thunder Force sea is now a part of my channel I guess.
