🇮🇹 Road to Italy | Locarno, Pisa & First Day in Florence | Part 2 Part Two takes us south — beginning our journey into Italy with one of the most scenic drives in Europe. We left Germany and headed through the Alps, stopping overnight in beautiful Locarno, Switzerland — a peaceful lakeside town that gave us the perfect reset before crossing into Italy. Then came Pisa… Despite the rain, nothing was stopping us from seeing the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa.....Umbrellas out, jackets zipped, and still smiling — because sometimes the weather doesn’t matter when you’re standing in front of something you’ve only seen in pictures your whole life. From there, we continued to Florence, where we checked into the incredible Anglo American Hotel Florence - Curio Collection by Hilton — our home base for this part of the adventure. And then… our first full day in Florence. Cobblestone streets. Renaissance history. Timeless architecture. The kind of place where every turn feels like a painting. This marked a special stretch of the trip — building toward Valentine’s Day in Italy and Pops & Letty’s 52nd wedding anniversary.
