OVERLAND TRACK. A Sandy Weather Adventure. Day 1, Ronney Creek to Waterfall Valley

The first day of my OVERLAND TRACK adventure, couldn't start till the bus left from the Visitors Centre at 9am (later than summer months), so unbelievably excited and nervous at the same time. The climb up to Marion's Lookout concerned me, but I didn't need to be. In good weather it is very doable even for me. 17kgs hanging off my back, and doing the walk in my own good time. Incredible views and feelings of vastness once started across the plateau, and finally down into Waterfall Valley. Slipped on ice a number of times, fell twice (or was it 3 times?), no damage obtained. Slipped the last time on the rough stone "steps" into the valley, got an almighty bruise to show for it. But no harm, nothing broken. A magical day. Truly Magical. Coldest night, maybe -2 or so?
